We pair a well-run Managed IT foundation with a fast-growing Managed AI practice, spanning fractional CIO and CISO engagements, security, compliance, consulting, and custom AI solutions.

The CFO will serve as the senior financial strategist responsible for all fiscal management, financial reporting, and strategic planning during a period of rapid growth and business model transformation. This is a hands-on leadership role working directly with the CEO.

  • Build financial models for new and evolving service lines, including AI solutions, fractional executive services, and compliance.
  • Own the annual budgeting process and deliver monthly and quarterly forecasts with variance analysis.
  • Manage cash flow to ensure operational stability while building retained earnings for future acquisition.
  • Identify and implement margin improvement initiatives across labour, vendor contracts, and service delivery.
  • Lead financial due diligence on acquisition targets, including valuation, risk assessment, and integration planning.
  • Oversee all accounting operations including month-end close, financial statements, and audit preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian and US tax obligations and cross-border regulatory requirements.
  • Manage our external bookkeeping, accounting, and legal partners.
  • Deliver clear, actionable financial reporting to the CEO on a regular cadence.

Qualifications

  • CPA designation (or equivalent professional accounting credential).
  • 7+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, ideally in a technology services company.
  • Hands-on M&A experience, including financial due diligence, valuation, or integration.
  • Strong command of cash flow management, financial modelling, and margin analysis.
  • Experience with Canadian federal and provincial tax and cross-border financial operations between Canada and the US.
  • Preferred: MBA, experience with recurring revenue models (MRR/ARR), and familiarity with PSA platforms.

Compensation

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, supplemented by a performance bonus tied to profitability improvement, retained earnings growth, and acquisition milestones.
