What You'll Walk Away With

Your Deliverables

The Strategic Technology Assessment gives your firm a clear, actionable plan for using technology as a strategic asset. It connects your IT environment, and every future investment, to your business goals instead of stopping at the technical details.

Most

firms under 20 people run the business on spreadsheets and QuickBooks alone, in our experience.

Based on what we see across our client base

01

Current State Analysis

A thorough review of your technology environment: infrastructure, security posture, vendor and concentration risk, and the quick wins we can act on right away.

02

Two-Year Strategic Roadmap

A prioritized plan for technology initiatives over the next two years, broken down by business quarter to align IT investments with your growth goals.

03

Technology Budget Forecast

A detailed two-year IT budget for predictable planning and informed decision-making, aligned with your strategic roadmap.

04

Long-Term Recommendations

Strategic initiatives designed to drive measurable business outcomes and reduce operational risk over time.

Want to see what the roadmap and budget actually look like? Here are anonymized samples of real client deliverables: the Technology Roadmap the Technology Budget.

When Firms Call Us

The assessment usually starts with a moment, not a strategy.

01

A new partner or operations hire starts asking what the firm actually spends on IT.

02

A coaching program or peer group just asked for numbers the firm cannot produce.

03

The one person who has spent 20 years figuring out the systems is retiring.

04

The firm has outgrown QuickBooks-and-a-feeling, and nobody quite trusts the reports.

05

A client, insurer, or auditor asked a security question that took two weeks to answer.

Process

How It Works

01

IT Audit

We begin with a thorough audit of your infrastructure, systems, and security posture, including an onsite walkthrough and configuration review.

02

Discovery Sessions

We hold calls with leadership and department heads to understand operations, pain points, and how technology supports your business today.

03

Analysis & Planning

Our team analyzes findings, identifies risks and opportunities, and begins mapping initiatives to your business objectives.

04

Build Roadmap & Budget

We create a two-year strategic roadmap and detailed IT budget forecast, with initiatives broken down by business quarter.

05

Review & Alignment

We review the roadmap with your leadership team, validate priorities, adjust timelines based on feedback, and confirm budget allocations.

06

Deliver & Next Steps

You receive the complete deliverables package. If you choose to move forward with Managed IT Services, your STA fee is credited toward onboarding.

You do not have to switch to get the assessment

Gaps in the basics are the norm, not a failing, and the assessment comes before any change of provider. Three things are true either way:

Read-only access

We audit your systems without changing anything, and that is all the assessment asks of you.

A heads-up, not a goodbye

Your current provider lets us in. Notifying them is not the same as leaving them.

The roadmap is yours

Move forward with us or do not; every deliverable stays with your firm.

Ask us what to buy, and we will politely decline.

Firms sometimes arrive asking which server, which platform, which AI tool. We decline to answer first, in the friendliest possible way: a recommendation without a diagnosis is a guess, and guesses become software nobody uses.

Sometimes the recommendation is: keep what you have.

The assessment is a diagnosis, not a sales document. If keeping your current provider or stack is the right call, the roadmap says so in writing. A roadmap you can trust has to be able to come back clean.

The deliverables are yours to keep. You can engage Resolved to execute the roadmap or take it to another firm, whichever best fits your needs. And if your firm ever changes hands, a documented environment is one less unknown to discount.

The Investment

What it costs

A fixed fee, agreed before we start. No hourly meter, and no surprises on the invoice.

  • Scope and exact fee confirmed before you commit to anything
  • Every deliverable is yours to keep, whatever you decide next
  • The fee is credited toward onboarding if you proceed with us

Strategic Technology Assessment

Starts at $5,000

A fixed fee, scoped to your firm's size and the complexity of your environment. We confirm the exact number on the free discovery call, before you commit to anything.

Credited toward onboarding

If you move forward with Managed IT, the full fee comes off your onboarding. For firms that continue, the assessment effectively pays for itself.

Yours to keep either way

Every deliverable stays with your firm, whether you engage us, another firm, or no one. A roadmap you can trust has to be able to come back clean.

In Their Words

What clients say

When we signed up, Reid clearly outlined what results his services would provide. He delivered exactly what he promised.

Shan | Chief Executive Officer

We have worked with Resolved for many years and have consistently been impressed with their professionalism and proactive approach. ... We would confidently recommend them to any firm looking for a reliable, forward-thinking IT provider.

Lee Campbell | President

Core One Consulting

Reid was highly professional and provided highly specific advice to our business. His transparency and communication skills made the process so much easier than our previous provider. We fully understood what we were getting after one conversation, where other IT firm proposals left us confused. Reid also went above and beyond and outlined some security risks we were taking and sorted them out quickly.

FAQ

Strategic Technology Assessment questions

What does the Strategic Technology Assessment cost? +

It starts at $5,000, a fixed fee scoped to your firm's size and the complexity of your environment, confirmed on the free 30-minute discovery call before you commit. If you move forward with Managed IT, the full fee is credited toward onboarding.

How long does it take, and how does it start? +

The engagement runs about five to six weeks and starts with a free 30-minute call to discuss where your firm is headed and whether the assessment is the right fit.

What do we actually walk away with? +

Four deliverables: a current-state analysis, a two-year strategic roadmap broken down by business quarter, a two-year technology budget forecast, and long-term recommendations. Every deliverable is yours to keep, whether you continue with us, go to another firm, or do nothing.

Do we have to switch IT providers to get the assessment? +

No. The assessment comes before any change of provider and uses read-only access, we audit without changing anything. Your current provider is notified so we can look, but notifying them is not the same as leaving them, and the roadmap is yours either way.

Will you just tell us to buy new technology? +

Not necessarily. The assessment is a diagnosis, not a sales document. If keeping your current provider or stack is the right call, the roadmap says so in writing.
