Diagnostics | Strategic AI Assessment
Put AI where it actually pays off.
The Strategic AI Assessment is a fixed-fee AI planning engagement for architecture and engineering firms: we map where AI can move your business, you pick what comes first, and together we build a phased 24-month roadmap that actually sticks.
Who starts here
Firms with a mature technology strategy and the team to run it (a strong MSP or in-house IT) can start here directly. Everyone else starts with the Strategic Technology Assessment, so the foundation is in place first.
What You Walk Away With
Strategy, not a science experiment
A chatbot on its own changes nothing. What moves the business is picking the right workflows, sequencing them so value compounds, and getting your team to adopt them. Yours to keep, either way.

01
AI Opportunity Map
A structured map of where AI can move your business, tailored to how your firm actually works.
- Real use cases, from drafting and redlines to RFIs and knowledge retrieval
- Each tied to the outcome it targets: time, margin, capacity
- A shared picture your whole leadership team can weigh in on
02
Your Prioritized Shortlist
Together we pick the handful of workflows worth doing first, chosen for value and feasibility.
- You choose what matters most to the business
- We pressure-test each one for value against effort
- Foundation-dependent items sequenced honestly
03
A 24-Month Roadmap
The heart of the engagement: a phased plan to put your chosen workflows to work, sequenced so value compounds.
- Quarter by quarter, each phase tied to a business outcome
- Foundation first, so the gains actually hold
- A conservative estimate of the return, per phase
04
Change & Adoption Plan
How the plan actually lands: who owns it, how your team adopts it, and the guardrails that keep it safe.
- Adoption built into your existing workflow, not bolted on
- Clear ownership and a way to measure results
- Data governance and an AI usage policy, so gains never add risk
How It Works
A focused engagement, in six steps
A few weeks of discovery and collaboration, then a roadmap and change plan your leadership team helped shape.
Discovery
Short sessions with leadership and team leads: which workflows eat the most senior time, where margin is under pressure, and what your team is already trying with AI.
Map the Use Cases
We bring you a structured map of where AI can help an A&E firm, tailored to what we heard: drafting and redlines, RFI and spec review, proposals, project-knowledge retrieval, QA, and admin. Each use case is tied to the outcome it targets.
Prioritize Together
A working session where you pick the highest-value workflows. We weigh each against effort and what your current foundation can support, so the shortlist is both ambitious and realistic.
Build the Roadmap
We sequence your chosen workflows into a phased 24-month plan, foundation first, with each phase mapped to a business outcome and a conservative estimate of the return.
Plan the Change
The part most AI efforts skip: how adoption actually happens. Ownership, training inside the tools your team already uses, how you will measure results, and the governance guardrails that keep your data safe.
Review & Next Steps
We walk leadership through the map, the priorities, the roadmap, and the change plan, and adjust on your feedback. The deliverables are yours to keep. If you move ahead with Managed AI, your fee is credited toward it.
What We Need From You
Light on your team, by design
A working engagement, but light-touch. Most of your time goes to two things: telling us how your firm really works, and choosing the workflows that matter most. Your data never leaves your environment.
- Brief input from leadership and a few team leads, about two to three hours in total.
- A working session to prioritize the use cases together.
- Optionally, and with your authorization, a light baseline of how AI is being used today, to sharpen the map.
The Investment
$5,000
A flat fee for the full engagement: the opportunity map, your shortlist, the roadmap, and the change plan. Credited toward Managed AI if you proceed, and yours to keep either way. We confirm scope on the free call first.
What Is Not Included
Building the roadmap out, fixing existing IT gaps, and any software or licensing are scoped separately. Execution is your call: with us, in-house, or another firm. And if AI is not the right move yet, the roadmap says so.
Priority is the IT foundation, not AI yet? Our Strategic Technology Assessment covers that side.
Why Resolved
A rare intersection
Putting AI to work safely takes two things that rarely sit together: a solid IT and data-governance foundation underneath, and real AI depth on top. We do both, for architecture and engineering firms, and proved it on our own firm first.
Your data stays on your systems, under your governance. We do not sell tools, we sell a plan measured in outcomes, with the team to execute it.

FAQ
Strategic AI Assessment questions
What is the Strategic AI Assessment? +
A collaborative AI planning engagement. We map where AI can move your business, you pick the highest-value workflows, and together we build a phased 24-month roadmap to put them to work, with the change plan that makes adoption stick.
This or the Strategic Technology Assessment, which one is mine? +
If you are rethinking your IT foundation or switching providers, start with the Strategic Technology Assessment. If IT is already handled and you want to know where AI pays off, this is the one. Not sure? Book the free discovery call and we will tell you which one, or neither.
How long does it take, and how does it begin? +
The engagement runs four to six weeks and starts with a free 30-minute discovery call to confirm it is the right fit. The roadmap it produces spans the following 24 months.
Do we decide what to build, or do you? +
You do. We bring the map of what is possible and the judgment on what is feasible for your firm today. You choose which workflows matter most to the business, and we build the roadmap together. It is your plan, not ours.
What do we walk away with? +
Four deliverables, yours to keep: an AI opportunity map, your prioritized workflow shortlist, a phased 24-month roadmap with a conservative ROI estimate, and a change and adoption plan.
Is our data safe during the assessment? +
Yes. Your data stays in your environment, under your governance, on your systems throughout the engagement.
What if the assessment finds AI is not the right move for us yet? +
Then the roadmap says exactly that. Some firms need the data and IT foundation fixed first, and some workflows are not worth automating at all. We would rather sequence you honestly than sell a project the evidence does not support. That is also why the deliverables are yours to keep either way.
