Diagnostics | Senior-Time Leak Audit

Your best people are doing your cheapest work.

A fixed-scope, two-week read of your senior timesheets. We map principals’ hours to task type and deliver a number: how much time your $200-plus-an-hour people spend on $40-an-hour work, and what it is worth at their rates.

Why This Exists

Senior time leaks quietly: a principal formatting a proposal, an engineer chasing signatures, a director copying data between systems.

None of it looks like a leak in the moment. It is twenty minutes here and an hour there, compounding into weeks of your firm’s most expensive capacity every year. It is not a people problem. It is a systems problem, and it has a number.

The Method

Two weeks, start to number.

01

Pull the timesheets

Week one. We collect 6 to 12 months of time entries for your principals and senior staff, plus your rate table, with read-only exports from whatever you run: Deltek, BQE, Ajera, or spreadsheets. Zero disruption to your team.

02

Classify every hour

We map each entry to a task type, AI-assisted and human-reviewed: design, client, and project leadership work on one side; formatting, filing, data entry, chasing signatures, and status updates on the other.

03

Validate with a principal

Week two. We review the classification with one principal, so ambiguous entries land on the right side and the number you get is one you can defend in a partners’ meeting.

04

Deliver the number

A findings report: hours per year of senior time in low-value work, priced at your rates, ranked by task type, with the recovery plan: what to delegate, what to automate, and what to stop doing entirely.

Some firms are tight. The report will say so.

If your senior hours are already going where they should, you will know it, in writing, and that is a finding worth having. A number you can trust has to be able to come back small.

Boundaries

What we touch, and what we do not.

What the audit reads

Time entries for your senior people and your rate table, with read-only access. Timesheets are sensitive, so everything is handled under an explicit confidentiality agreement, and access ends when the audit does.

What the audit changes

Nothing. No software changes, no new tools, no new habits asked of your team, and no interruption to live projects. The audit reads what you already have. Acting on what it finds is a separate decision, and it is yours.

Where it leads: the recovered hours come back through Senior Time Recovery, Workflow Automation, and Managed AI, measured against the baseline the audit just gave you. The audit stands on its own either way, and the findings are yours to keep.

Confidential By Default

Task types on trial. Never people.

Timesheets are personal. Everything here runs under a signed confidentiality agreement, in place before we look at a single entry, with one rule above all: we grade the work, not the person doing it.

Not a performance review

The audit classifies task types, never grades people. Nobody’s job is on trial, and the findings are never used to evaluate an individual.

You choose what to include

If there is anyone or anything you would rather leave out, leave it out. We work with what you are comfortable sharing, and we will tell you if a gap limits the finding.

Used for nothing else

Your timesheets are used only to produce this audit. Not to train anything, not to inform other work, not for any purpose outside this engagement.

Deleted when we are done

When the audit ends, our access ends and we delete the records you gave us. You keep the report. We keep nothing.

The Investment

A flat $2,500, all in.

The Senior-Time Leak Audit is a flat $2,500: one fixed fee for the full two weeks, the classification, and the written report. No hourly meter, no scope creep, no surprise invoice.

One honest note on the math: the figure is measured hours at billable rates, and not every hour converts straight back to billable work. What it converts to is capacity, and the report says so.

Kirsten Reite Architecture

As a fractional COO, I get to select and work with vendors from legal to finance to data privacy to IT. Many of them good, but Resolved deserves a recommendation. Their support of daily IT questions and requests is like the in-house IT support at places I have worked. We have dedicated support individuals, timely resolution, and a feeling of being very well looked after. The cost is well worth the value.

FAQ

Senior-Time Leak Audit questions

What is a senior-time leak? +

It is the hours your most expensive people spend on work far below their rate: a principal formatting a proposal, an engineer chasing signatures, a director copying data between systems. It is rarely one dramatic block of waste, but twenty minutes here and an hour there that compound into weeks of senior capacity a year.

How long does the audit take and what do we get? +

It is a fixed-scope, two-week engagement. The deliverable is a number: hours per year of senior time going to low-value task types, priced at your rates, broken down by person and task type, with a prioritized plan for what to delegate, what to automate, and what to stop doing.

How much does the Senior-Time Leak Audit cost? +

A flat $2,500: one fixed fee for the full two weeks, the classification, and the written report, with no hourly meter, no scope creep, and no surprise invoice.

Is this a performance review of our senior people? +

No, and we put that in writing. We classify task types, not people. The audit never grades anyone, and the findings are never used to evaluate individuals. What it shows is where the firm’s systems push low-value work onto expensive people, which is a systems problem, not a people problem.

What access do you need, and will it disrupt our team? +

We need read-only exports of 6 to 12 months of time entries for your principals and senior staff, plus your rate table, from whatever you run: Deltek, BQE, Ajera, or spreadsheets. The audit changes nothing: no software changes, no new tools, and no interruption to live projects.

What happens to our timesheets after the audit? +

Everything runs under a signed confidentiality agreement in place before we look at a single record. Your timesheets are used only to produce this audit, and when the audit ends our access ends and we delete the records you gave us. You keep the report.

The audit starts with a free 30-minute discovery call: how your senior people track time today, whether the audit fits, and what the two weeks would involve. If your firm is not a fit, we will say so on the call.

The audit itself is a flat $2,500: two weeks, one number, yours to keep.
